Well the Govt that was considering it has gone! We had elections a month ago.... still no Govt appointed! So it all starts afresh. How long will this new lot last as no one has a majority? Not long.... then another election, so it all starts afresh! Will it even be done by 2016?? Some Minister needs to make decision to fund it1 I don't think the 1926 Census exists for NI. DH The Dáil considered releasing after 70years as these 1926 Census returns would be gold dust to genealogists, but that was several years ago and I’ve heard nothing since. Probably got delayed/moth balled due to funding cuts. >From a local view point there seems to have been a great deal of movement at the time with Protestant families moving North and RC moving South, but that would only be revealed by looking at the census.
