Many thanks for the Weblink , Dave, fascinating stuff. When I was 12, I used to 'fossick' for Fossils etc, and found a dark blue hand-axe at St.Catherine's Hill near Winchester....on a subsequent School Visit, I handed it to the Southampton Museum Curator , who ID' d it as having been made by a Neanderthal Man. I have not long ago learned that all Europeans have as much as 6% of Neanderthal Genes. So people can't use that as an insult any more :- "Get lost you're just a .....Neanderthal !" The parents of the Boxgrove Man ? They forgot to give their names and address to the UK Immigration Officer , as they high-tailed it back to Africa, seeking a better climate ! Cheers the ' noo n'all, Bruce Graham -----Original Message----- From: Dave H. via Sent: Tuesday, April 12, 2016 9:13 PM To: [email protected] Subject: FERMANAGH-GOLD the remains of a man have been discovered, half a million years old.... but who were his parents?? :-)) http://www.archaeology.co.uk/specials/the-timeline-of-britain/boxgrove.htm --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus ========================= https://www.facebook.com/groups/FermanaghGold/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
