Hello all Armstrong listers. Do any of you have a Catherine Armstrong born c. C.1776, who married in 1798 at St. Mary’s Ardess, Magheraculmoney, Andrew Moffat of Magheracross. Catherine (Armstrong) Moffat named her first two sons John born in 1799 and William born in 1801. Does this indicate Catherine’s father was either John or William Armstrong? She named her first born daughter Elizabeth. Catherine was 73 yrs. old, when she died in 1849 in Salloon, Magheracross and was buried in Magheracross C.of Ireland Graveyard. Any clues appreciated. My experience with Irish naming patterns is the first son is named after the paternal grandfather 2nd son after maternal grandfather. William being her dad and john being her husbands dad. same order for girls at least for me.
