    3. Some people would steal anything - tragic what is done to heritage sites. Fancy having the gall to steal tiles off a church roof, considered blasphemy in medieval times they would be hung, drawn, and quartered or something equally unpleasant. Wrought iron gates are always high on the hit list here too, beautiful things and prohibitively expensive to replace. Similar to those lovely old Townland names, once gone never to return. So proud of the folks who fight to retain them! Only one Capstone of the 10 or so stolen was ever recovered at a Sunday Market near Aldergrove. But because there was no identifiable distinguishing Mark on it nothing could be done about it. Neither of two Gates ever have come to light. It is thought that they were cut to small pieces and weighed in amongst scrap metal by the thieves. Viola=

In 1614, 1000 acres was granted to John Sedborough. In 1629 to was bequeathed to his daughter Barbara and husband John Mayne. The estate was based in an area called "Mount Mount Sedborough" but that name has since died out (although a local lough retains the name) and reverted to the older, probably the original name of Rateen or Golan. The family have a plot in Magheraveely - http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ire/fermanagh/photos/tombstones/fermanagh-magheraveely/target55.html But something makes me think there is a vault in St Marks, Aghadrumsee which is associated with them too (Id need to check this) Do any of these names jump out at you? Thank you very much for submitting a photo to Find A Grave. Unfortunately, your photo for the Tumna Church of Ireland page has been declined because it isn't really appropriate for the main cemetery page. In general we usually post just a few general photos of a cemetery on the cemetery record. A shot of the gate or sign and maybe a few broad shots of the grounds. If you have a photo of a specific headstone or memorial within the cemetery, you should add it directly to that person's meomorial page, rather than to the cemetery page. 3. Dave, you jest, More akin to up and creeping! Installed 'Çlassic Shell' which helps immensely. So, Drumreilly with a double L; then Ballyconnell, and I need to become acquainted with a lough fisherman - easy-peasy. :) :) The castle ruin more resemble a quite small, possibly fortified, manor house from the existing photos. Are these ruins still in existence? I imagine it will be easier to start in the recent past and work back, see what comes up, as I have no idea exactly who I am searching for, excepting the father of g-g-gfather Felix Dolan of Meenagleragh would possibly be named Owen with a birth date c1750. So, Drumreilly and Blacklion graveyards where I know Dolans are buried - pay particular attention to familiar given names first. This would include just about every Dolan in Leitrim - reading through them was like repeating a litany of my family. Quite amazing. Dave, thank you so much for your help yet again. Truly, there are 'Legends' on this wonderful list! Dee. PS: Anyone researching Dolan, Maglone, or Magauran of Leitrim and Cavan? Would love to hear from you. -----Original Message----- From: fermanagh-gold-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:fermanagh-gold-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Dave H via Sent: Tuesday, 10 March 2015 8:52 PM To: fermanagh-gold@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: FERMANAGH-GOLD Leitrim Dolans Ahhhh. up and running again!! Yes there would be a lot.. Magauran Castle is on side of lake in Co.Cavan BUT the south and West shore of the lake is the county line between Cavan and Leitrim so if you are in a boat on lake you are in Cavan..go ashore there and you are in Leitrim. You were looking for Magaurans with Dolans and you know they used to have a bit of fun with each other, marrying each other, shooting each other etc in the area around the Castle and that some went to Fermanagh. So, Drumreilly C of I g/yard would be nearest church to there and some RC Dolans are buried there. I put some Drumreilly pics on IGP but doubtful if triple plot was one of them as it's not clear enough to transcribe but one stone goes back to 1700's with names/dates on another fairly recent. Again you'll need to be careful because there is a Drumreily Barony and a Drumreilly Barony and these are not one and same!! Simple. :-)) Ballyconnell even has a Magauran.. http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ire/cavan/photos/tombstones/cavan-ballyco nnell-coi/target18.html I don't read stones just point camera and click when passing, so only saw it when I got home. The Castle, I reckon, is the homeplace!! (as starting point!). If only you knew of a fisherman in Co. Leitrim who goes around all the lakes in the area..... not much chance of that!! :-)) Dave.
