    3. Hi Carole, Sorry I did not receive your email, it could be due to my new computer installed last week - still transferring data from the old one, what a pain!! At present am just beginning research into Cavan and Leitrim and am not too familiar with the area involved, thinking Templeport likely. It is certain, however, that my Dolan/Magauran family originated in Cavan/Leitrim then moved to Fermanagh sometime around 1700's. To date I have not found any SLOWEY involvement with this side of the family, but shall happily keep you in mind and let you know if and when I do. Excellent work done transposing gravestone photos of these two Counties by dedicated people, including Dave Hall, to the online site. Makes the search both easier and fascinating as I am finding many surnames associated with my Fermanagh people, such as McCabe, Duffy, Keown, Foy etc, side by side with Magauran/McGovern and Dolan. Obvious to me these families were associated in Cavan long before the move to Fermanagh. Kindly, Dee. -----Original Message----- From: fermanagh-gold-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:fermanagh-gold-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of CARELL via Sent: Sunday, 22 March 2015 7:54 AM To: fermanagh-gold@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: FERMANAGH-GOLD Magauran and Slowey. > I am on the F-G list and saw the message below. > I have been looking for my great-grandfather, John James Slowey for twenty years at least. > Can you direct me to the place you found the Magaurans and Slowys together? > > Another item I remember listed both the Magaurans and the Slowys together, in trouble with the Law!! 3. Yes the best thing to do from there Vi is to copy/paste each 50 and stick them all on a s/sheet, then next 50 etc. Then with them all in one place one can go through them at leisure and put an X in first empty column for any of interest, and then just do a Sort by that Column to get them together. Much better than going Search after Search and then leaving website. 3. Dear FG Listers, My gg grandfather William Henry was killed on board the ship "Bee" in September 1855 two weeks into the family's 16 week voyage from Liverpool to New South Wales. While I have the details of his death from the Immigration Commissioner's reports, there is no mention of his birthplace, parents, or siblings, and no death certificate that I can find. William was born about 1815 and married Mary Emery by license at St. Mary's CI Church, Ardess on 21st May, 1834. William's abode was recorded as Dromore Parish & Mary's as Edenclaw More, Parish of Magheraculmoney. On arrival in Sydney on 6th January 1856, the Native Places and ages of the family were given as; Mary, 39 Magheraculmoney; Matilda, 19 Dromore Tyrone; Isabella, 17 Dromore Tyrone; Anne,13 Dromore, Tyrone; John J, 11 Dromore Tyrone; Margaret J, 9 Magheraculmoney, Fermanagh; William, 7 Magheraculmoney, Fermanagh: Mary J, 4 Magheraculmoney, Fermanagh. Mary Henry died at Kiama, NSW in 1890 having never re-married, her death certificate does not mention any other children. I have not been able to find baptism records for these folks in the IGP records, so would be very grateful for any clues as to where to find out more about our William Henry. Best regards, Lester Hamilton

Unlike our Trove newspapers which highlight the name you are searching for, you have to read all the listed items when searching. I wish now I had saved to relevant newspaper information, but am sure a search using the name Magauran in the search engine, would bring up the items. One item related how the Magaurans had a genetic health problem, which they had found a way to treat successfully. So successfully, they were consulted by others for this treatment. Another item I remember listed both the Magaurans and the Slowys together, in trouble with the Law!! Carole.
