Hello listers, I am searching mainly for EATON and WILLIS in Fermanagh and surrounding counties. James EATON (b~1765) married Catherine WILLIS (b~1769) around 1790. They had a son James EATON born 1800 in Monawilkin, Fermanagh. This James emigrated to Canada around 1824. James Jr. is listed as Weslyan Methodist in Canada. I don't know what his parents, James Sr. and Catherine, would then be. Other names of interest, because they married EATON women around the same time and location are: CARR/KERR, ARMSTRONG, DUNDAS, ELIOT I recently had my DNA tested via 23andMe. My paternal grandmother Kate GUNN is the daughter of Patrick GUNN, Corathistune & Derryad & Ellen CLIFFORD (1857 - 1922+) Coradillar Ellen had siblings Thomas (1857) Catherine (1845-51) James (1855) and John (1860). Their parents were Thomas CLIFFORD (D: 1870's) and Catherine McELROY (1827 - 1905) All seem to have been Coradillar Regards all. M.
I'm beginning to think I belong to an obscure branch of the Maguires. There's this nest of Maguires in and around Elgin and Souris Manitoba Canada that put on a reunion every four or five years. How did I find out about it? From John C. Maguire in Australia! We lived in nearby Brandon until 1950, and we had no idea that there were other Maguires in the area. Anyway, its from July 6th to 8th in and around Elgin and Souris. You can meet John C. there. Contact me off-list and I'll send you the details and contact info. Unfortunately I cannot attend. CREIGHTON, Rossharbour area, Templecarn parish, all years. Oldest confirmed ancestor bn abt 1759. FERGUSON and DUNDAS, almost anywhere in Fermanagh, mostly between Belleek and Derrygonnelly; Inishmacsaint and Devenish parishes. My FERGUSON interests are frequently found to be Methodist. Oldest confirmed ancestors for both families abt 1800. MAXWELL, Belalt South townland west of Pettigo and on the Donegal – Fermanagh border, married into FERGUSON family. GORDON, of Shean and Portnacloyduff townlands near Church Hill, Methodist, oldest confirmed ancestor mid 1700’s. Also interested in OVENS collateral line in Fermanagh and any information relating to Slavin Church records and history. We have FLETCHER, DUNDAS, FERGUSON and GORDON Y-DNA test results and the potential for a CREIGHTON participant. This time last year I was in the midst of planning a wonderful 16 days in Ireland (May-June) which included some quality cemetery time in Fermanagh and a successful day at PRONI. Hello List, I've been researching William Fallis, born Enniskillen 1800. His wife in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada was Iasabella ?? , born about 1808, Ireland, and died 1855 Saint John, NB, Canada. He immigrated to the Maritime Providences of Canada in 1829. William's father or Uncle, might have been, George Follis, born 1783, Enniskillen, died Campobello, NB, Canada 1857. William, also may of had a brother or Cousin George Follis, born 1808-1870, Fermanagh, who was married to Anna Keyes, 1812-1875, both died in Maine, United States. I have had my Y-DNA done at FTDNA, Halpogroup R-M269 R-Z2109, an match with the Fallis and Follis of Fermanagh, but not sure which group he was from. My mtDNA Halpogroup is T2b21. On another note, my Fallis' in Massachusetts married into the Magee family, who were originally from Enniskillen. They were traced back to Terrence Magee 1808-1880 Enniskillen and his wife Susan Connolly, 1818-1885 Enniskillen. The other side of that family has: McLaughlin, McCain or McCann, on the Connolly side. My GEDmatch account is, T379152 I've done a lot of work in The U. S. and Canada, but only a few contacts in Enniskillen. In Canada, I appear to match with some Fallis-Follis from Devenish parish, but as Cousins or Uncles. Looking for help to find my William line. They were Church of Ireland people(Anglican, Episcopalian, in Canada and the U.S.) Those people in Devenish parish were very close to what is noe Letirim. My great gran Isabella Ross, was born in Killasnet parish, Leitrim, but it was not far from Kiltyclogher, Fermanagh, where her future husband, William Bustard, lived. Names- Acheson, Bustard, Nixon, Watterson. Wattersons use forenames Gabriel and Noble. Middle names for Bustards were: Cullen, Moore, Likely-probably ancestral family names.
