    2. Dee Byster-Graham
    3. Dear Vi, Another lovely story from your wonderful childhood! Not a lot of tradition in Australia, however in our home Midnight Mass was always obligatory for Easter Service - Easter High Mass sung in the Latin, the iconic perfume of incense - absolutely beautiful! I still thrill to Gregorian Chants, and playing them on CD's brings back all the memories. Then Easter eggs in the morning via the Bunny who always somehow managed to eat the carrot I left out on the nest for him; and roast dinner (at lunch) usually chicken and all the trimmings - yummy. Unlike Christmas, not too hot thus one could appreciate a huge hot feast during the daytime. Kindly, Dee. -----Original Message----- From: Viola Wiggins [mailto:vmaw3434@gmail.com] Sent: Monday, 9 April 2018 12:00 AM To: Fermanagh-Gold Subject: FERMANAGH-GOLDEaster Houses FERMANAGH-GOLD@rootsweb.com After my older cousin in Ohio asked me about "Easter Houses" that her Mother, Martha, nee Clarke, mentioned when speaking of her childhood in Fermanagh, got me wondering if other families had that tradition in their families. <snip> To post a message to the Fermanagh-Gold mailing list, send an email to Fermanagh-Gold@rootsweb.com. ________________________________________ --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus

Rutherford is a geneticist and it's written in as easy to read style and explains quite a lot about DNA testing, some of the pitfalls of doing this, and also that there actually is no such thing as "race" from a genetic viewpoint. For instance, a person in Kenya can be more genetically similar to a person in Finland, than two Finnish people are to each other. It also explains in a very gruesome way what happens when cousins keep marrying cousins and supplied examples for the royal families of Europe who have economic and territorial reasons for doing this in the past. 2. Dee Byster-Graham
    3. Hello Di, I am a direct descendant of the Dolans of Meenagleragh Townland, Fermanagh. It is believed that all of this surname in Fermanagh were related, but it is difficult to decide which branch of the family your James came from. Every child born to every branch in every generation had the given names of John, James, Patrick, Hugh etc - can you give me any further data on the exact family you seek? Was James actually born in Enniskillen as noted on a birth cert -did you search the Catholic Birth Registers online? Where in Australia did they immigrate to? Your Mary Ann Carey rings a bell in my brain - perhaps I have come across this couple in my search. The 1836 date would indicate he may be of the Dolans of Sandhill Townland (near Derrygonnelly) - the patriarch of this branch was Owen Dolan (c1793-c1870, who was the brother of my gg-grandfather Felix Dolan (c1795-1886) of Meenagleragh. Would appreciate any further data you could give me, and I shall search through my records and see what is there. I see you live in Brisbane, I am on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay :-) Kindly, Dee. -----Original Message----- From: Denis Pery [mailto:denispery@westnet.com.au] Sent: Monday, 9 April 2018 2:48 PM To: Fermanagh-Gold@rootsweb.com Subject: FERMANAGH-GOLDFamily Fermanagh FERMANAGH-GOLD@rootsweb.com Hi, I am looking for Dolan family. 1. FERMANAGH-GOLDARMSTRONG of Moorlough, Galloon
    2. DSA2003
    3. G’day everyone My 4x great grandparents Robert Armstrong and Rose Vance had three children, Hugh (1806-1843), Margaret (1811) and Anne (1813) baptised in the parish of Galloon while living on the townland of Moorlough. After a stint in the army, Hugh married Jane Nicol (1812- ), daughter of Robert Nicol (died 1849) and Sarah Lloyd in Clones in 1832, where they in turn had three children, Robert (1833), Mary Ann (1841) and my great great grandfather, Thomas (1843-1887). After Hugh’s death from TB in 1843, his widow Jane, along with Mary Ann and Thomas are next sighted in Liverpool in 1861. This bare outline is ALL I know of my Armstrongs in Ireland, as through divorce, early death, etc, four generations in a row (perhaps five) on my paternal line haven’t known their grandfathers and thus there has been incredibly little oral history that has come down about the Armstrongs. Indeed, the only piece of oral history that I’ve acquired about my great grandfather John Edward Armstrong (1863-1908), which was given to me by a second cousin whom I’d tracked down shortly before her death, was that he was a “Liverpool Irishman who walked out on his wife leaving her to bring up five children”. The reality of the “walking out” was his early death from cancer and there were in fact six children, one of whom had died young.
