They lived in and around Tempo, Co. Fermanagh during the mid-1800's>> Its basically a (rather rambling ) history of the County. In the course of telling history, many names get mentioned, mostly of course the "biggies" like Maguire, Hamilton, Archdale, etc. There is a section which gives a paragraph or so on each of the major original Gaelic names and the British "Planter" names. It does NOT give detailed genealogies or lists of records. It does have an index to every name in the book, but often the reference is simply to a name mentioned in a news story, such as who got arrested at the famous "Macken Fight." Still, its a worthwhile book to have in your library, mainly because it gives lots of history of the area, and an idea of what the times were like, etc. If you are very very lucky you may find a reference to your unknown small farmer or renter, but don't count on it! Janet C-S PS: The name Wherry is not mentioned.
