    1. Crom Castle/Lady of Erne/Tenants named Browne

    3. Hello list members, i have been off list doing research, but now have new leads and questions. John Brown had a daughter born 1827 named Mary, possibly born near Enniskillen. Mary is said to have worked at Erne Castle and studied under lady Erne, Erne Castle, Erne River. i believe this is the Crom Castle or Crom Estates. She was married on Oct 23 1846, age 19, said residence was either Drumlone or Drumborry. REally difficult to make out. Anyone know how I would find out names of tenants living on the Crom Estates? either in Enniskillen, Linaskea, or Drumlone/Drumborry? The letter says they, The Browne's lived on the 'browne' estates for a hundred years. I believe that is between 1730-1830. I think the Browne's originally came from England may have come with one of the Balfours. Does anyone know what church the Lady of Erne and her tenants would have gone to in the 182o's and 1830's. Holy Trinity that they attended in the 1840-1860's was not built until 1842. Thanks again. I am hoping someone will know about this estate and the Lady Selina. John Browne may have married Elizabeth Gardiner, and Mary Browne married a William Mcmahon that was a cousin to the Browne's. Thanks for your time and effort. Sincerely Joy Irene in Canada
