I am going to Ireland on the 5th of June. My ancestors came from the county of Fermanagh and all were born on the townland of Kilmore, which is just outside of Newtownbutler. The family was on the farm until around 1875 and then moved to the townland of Lisegerton, to a small settlement called Millbrook, Co. Monaghan which is just on the the northern fringe of the town of Clones. The family is as follows. Thomas Armstrong (1808-1884) married Jane Alford (1813-1889) and they had eleven children all born in Kilmore. Robert, went to England Thomas, went to England but believe ended up in Troy N.Y. USA Ellen (1863-1919) went to England and married [1]Issac Armstrong and [2] Samuel Stewart. Rev. John (1836-1910) and Elizabeth Jane (1841-1923) emmigrated 1860 to Belleville, Ontario Canada. Eliza remained in Belleville and married Hugh Corbett of Co. Down. Rev. John was a minister of the Weslayan Primitive Method Church and served in northern Michigan. William (1840-1918) settled in Troy N.Y. and became a successful tea merchant. Joseph (1846-1922) settled in Lapeer Michigan and became a successful merchant Margaret Jane (1859-1880) emmigrated to Troy and died after 3 months in the USA Isabella (1862-1927) emmigrated to Montreal, Quebec Mary Anne (1849-.....) Henry (1854-....) he was the only one of the family to have remained in Ireland and was living close to Clones and the last address I had from him was Faltragh, 5 Evans Cross, Ballybay. His wife was Lisie. Thomas had an older brother, Rev. John Armstrong (1788-1875) who was a well known Weslayan Minister. He died in Lurgan, Co. Armagh and is memoralised in the High Street Church in Lurgan. He was married and had a daughter Margaret who lived with the family at Windsor Terrace in Lurgan (1875) I am trying to trace the burial grounds for the family and want to know if all the cemeteries have been transcribed for the Newtownbutler and Clones area. Also would like to trace the family of Henery and others. Any help gratefully appreciated. Donald J. Boyle brantford, ontario, canada
