Hi, I am wondering what is the best way of continuing my research on my family from Ireland. Family stories say the original McKEARNEYs came from Fermanagh to Preston, Lancashire. I have the following information and would love some advice on what would be the best way for me to proceed. Living in Australia of course does not help matters and I may need the help of a professional researcher... can anyone recommend someone?? The information I have is as follows: McKEARNEY, Hugh married Mary ???? both born Ireland children: all born Ireland Anne b.c. 1840 Hugh bc. 1842 Andrew b.c. 1844 Thomas bc. 1845 Mary b.c. 1848 I realise it isn't much, but as I said in 1861 they were living in Lancashire, England, so I am presuming that sometime between 1848 - 1861 they made the big move. At this stage there is no indication that they were present for the 1851 census in England. I need to check back before 1848 in Ireland... what and where is the best place to find any records..
