My GGGrandfather,James Robinson, born Jan 1, 1787, joined the 27th Regiment of Foot, of the Royal Iniskillen Fusiliers about 1807. He served in the Peninsular Wars and from there was sent to Canada. The only clue I have as to his origins come from his Discharge Papers, which state that he was born in the Parish of Devonish, in or near the town of C......., in the County of Fe........ . Does anyone on line have any idea about where I might go from here?
