    3. I'm forwarding this helpful info: >From a personal observation of County Fermanagh, the home of my ancestors. I had the pleasure of visiting the area for a two week period in 1996. I stayed in several places, never paying more then 25.00 US for B&B. Some places were only 16.80 US for B&B. When I travel overseas, I go to see and do, so where I stay for the night is a minor consideration as I have never found a bad place to stay and the food was plentiful at all. I was hard pressed to find a detailed touring guide/map for this county as it is noted more for fishing and boating then anything else. These is a lot to see and do , especially if your ancestors came from this beautiful area. I purchased a "Fermanagh Lakeland" Outdoor Pursuits map at a local Gas station/grocery store and It proved invaluable as it had everything on it:ie, original spelling of townlands, roads and pathways to ruins, elevations of all the hills and mountains, location of old churches, graveyards, ect. The map cost about 5.00 US and helps me in my Genealogy work. Talk, Talk, Talk to the local people. They will tell you more of what you want to know then any tourist guide, book or map. I had been trying to locate the burial place of someone who died, way back in 1845. When I asked about this place, He politely informed me that the spelling and pronunciation was wrong, then proceeded to take me in his car to the exact place, which was no longer on the maps. Note of caution. If your trip is to be for an extended period of time, look for a Laundry for wash/ware as soon as you get there, they are few and far between. Enjoy the visit, for you will want to stay longer, will not want to leave, and will be anxious to return. Respectfully, Your Fermanagh County Host, William J Flanagan
