I'm searching for links in Co. Fermanagh to my 3rd greatgrandfather, Charles JOHNSTON (1752-1845) who departed Co. Fermanagh for Upper Canada in 1822 accompanied by his second wife and large family including sons, Irvine JOHNSTON (1797-1885), James JOHNSTON (1819-1892), and Charles JOHNSTON (1800-1881), my 2nd greatgrandfather who married Margaret IRVINE (1802-1889) who was born in the town of Pettigo, Co. Fermanagh. So far the mention of "Petigo, Co. Fermanagh" in Margaret IRVINE's obituary is the only link to Ireland that I have. In Canada my JOHNSTON ancestors were members of the Methodist Church or the Church of England. I am aware that both families, JOHNSTON and IRVINE, are quite numerous in Co. Fermanagh.
