Since then I have gone through a selection of old and I mean old newspaper cuttings(about 150 years old) collected by the marshalseakeeper in Enniskillen and much to my surprise found a letter sent from the Sandwich Islands back to Fermanagh seeking family members and giving a little information re progress of American family If I can reestablish contact I can supply details Secondly I have access to a copy of the Griffiths valuation information and am prepared to do lookups. Finally I have also access to Trimbles History of Enniskillen.Livingstones Fermanagh Story Dundas History of Enniskillen Parish and Town andagain could do lookups if required Alan Nelson(with over 350 years of links with Enniskillen) >> Dear Alan, Thank you for your very kind offer. I am stuck on a great-grandfather William PURSLEY who may have born in Enniskillen abt 1842. I know when and where he died (Glasgow 1879) and of course all of his descendants. Oral family history (not always the most reliable info) has him born in Ireland with a Col. George PURSLEY as a possible ancestor (father?). Could you check and see if any Pursleys are listed. Thank you again, Phil Pursley ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------- Subj: Re: FERMANAGH-D Digest V98 #49 Date: 98-07-26 18:09:42 EDT From: 101523.3210@compuserve.com (Alan T G Nelson) Sender: 101523.3210@compuserve.com (Alan T G Nelson) To: PPurs67@aol.com (INTERNET:PPurs67@aol.com) There are 4 Pursley names listed in the Griffiths valuation of Ireland covering the period 1848-1864 and only head of households One in Fermanagh I could list and send for the cost of the postage and time spent Alan Nelson
