I would like any information about William Stephenson. According to family tradition passed down from the early 19th century, he was an Englishman employed as an architect by Earl of Erine to superintend the building of Belmore Castle, County Fermanagh, Ireland. He was granted a tract of land near the castle and settled there. He had three sons, William, Andrew, and John. They all fought in the Battle of the Boyne, in which William the younger was killed and Andrew was severly wounded. Son John later settled outside Londonderry. Any information about Stephensons of the area, Earl of Erine, Belmore Castle (is there a picture available on the net?), or related events would be greatly appreciated!
