My g-grandfather, Robert Mullens, left Co. Fermanagh as a child. He was born about 1839 and arrived in Sydney, Australia, with his parents per "Percy" 28 August, 1841. The trouble is that we have two Mullens/Mullen families arriving on the same ship, both settled in the same country town and both had a child, Robert. One boy was 4 on arrival in ?sydney, the other was 6. One family, that of Patrick Mullens/Mullins and his wife, Francis (McCabe Patrick was born in Garvary c1815, son of Roger or Roderick Mullins and Bridget (Maguire). Religion Catholic. Patrick and Francis arrived with children: Thomas 9, George 7, Robert 4 and Mary Jane 1. The other family was Robert Mullen and his wife Jane, name also spelt Mullins Robert and Jane arrived with children: Daniel old enough to be counted as a seperate immigrant, John 8, Robert 6 and Peter 2. Has anyone any connections to either family? I simply cannot find which family my g-grandfather, Robert, came from. Descendants of one of the families claim that they are not related. My g-grandfather later lied about his age when marrying for the second time, he was a widower, and this has made it difficult to decide which age was his true age. He was given to varying it. This is a real puzzle. Elizabeth
