Hello everyone, I have just found some birthdates on a 1901 Canadian Census for my elusive Irish 3 Grt Grandparents. One was born March 17 1827 and the other Oct 28 1827. The year may be off by one poss 1826. My question is. Now that I can narrow it down, and they were married in Kinawley Parish. At the time of their marriage in 1846 they were living in aughalurcher and either Dromlone or Dromborry. (After the Droml or b it is unreadable bumps.) Where is the best place to go next. Do I try to find out the name of the minister in Derrylin C of I and write sending a donation for looking up a birth record for Mary Browne in March 1826/27 or do I try an on-line search and use a credit card? William wasn't born in Ireland but his parents were married and then left for they believe Baltimore. William born in Oct 1827 was their oldest son. Do I look for a marriage record for James McMahon from Aughalurcher poss son of William (Grandpa) 1825-Feb 1827? I have searched the available LDS materials, and either need to Church records or a Historical society? I have not tried to get birth records or marriage records yet from Ireland, other than ones on microfilm from the LDS. I would appreciate any suggestions, advice, or comments of other people's experiences trying to find 1820 info. Does anyone know if there was an Irish settlement in or near Baltimore, Maryland in the 1820's? William was born there. His mother died and he was sent back to Ireland to be raised by Grandparents. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Joy Irene Just beginning to uncover my Fermanagh roots. Fermanagh names Ross, McMahon, Browne, Mcgee.
