Hi All, I apologise if this has been received before, however, I think I mucked the last one up and you probebly did not receive it. My g-grandmother was Mary ? who came from Co. Fermanagh to New Zealand. She married my g-granfather, Robert MULLENS, a widower, there and they came to Australia soon after the wedding. (Robert grew up in Australia and married his first wife here and they went to New Zealand, where she died). We think Mary was in her early twenties when she married in May, 1877at Lyttleton, NZ. Mary had been in New Zealand a matter of months. We believe she may have arrived there in 1876. Mary's name was recorded in new Zealand as McGOULD/McGOULIE and her age was recorded as 21 and 24. On arriving in Australia, civil records show her name recorded variously as: McGOULD, GOULD, GOLEY, GOLDEN, GOLEY, McGOY. And Cathoic Church records show Mary's maiden name as: MAGUALLEY, McGOLLICK, McGORY, McGAULIC and GORRICK In Brewarrina and Bourke, NSW, Australia. Obviously no one could understand Mary's accent and I guess she could not spell the name for them. Was there a name similar to something in the above which was common in Farmanagh ? Any suggestions as to which may have been Mary's correct name ? I would be most grateful for any Help. With best wishes to all. Elizabeth
