Hi everybody. It is very exciting to think that this e-mail is going to be read by people who eventually may be able to fill in gaps, but also to give me understanding where my ancestors came from. My parents are both deceased and now that I have retired it has given me the urge to trace the male side of my family. I was told that way back say around 1800 approx this ancestor left the family home in Moher and came to England and settled in St Helens Lancashire where I was born. Not knowing the exact birth date of my father I decided to look in the Census of 1832 for England and noticed that it recorded a Henry Kells who was born in Ireland who lived in St Helens. I know that I will have to work back to that date but it has got me very interested. I wonder whether any body with knowledge of Moher can tell me whether there are people there with the surname Kells.or possibly descendants. Also I would like to try and gain knowledge of the area so I would welcome any help. At present we live in the Trowbrige area which is near Bath. Thank you in anticipation.
