Hi Jack I also quite recently read that book and, as you said, it did demolish quite a number of Family Myths. What interested me the most was that a large percentage of those Border reivers, who either went over, or were transported, to Co Fermanagh, married into my EMERY FAMILY, emigrated to Australia, where they intermarried all over again.. The Armstrongs, according to Fraser, were the worst reivers of the lot and, being prolific breeders, have heard there was an Armstrong in almost every Irish Family which settled at Kiama, a small Australian south coast township which, back then, was commonly known as "Little Fermanagh".
