Dear Listers: Every time I go to my local LDS Branch, I come away more confused. Is there a simple way to find out the numbers of the films that could help in one's research? I have tried the FHL website, but can't seem to find numbers of films that way. Please help! Mary McAuliffe Nigro
Hi Mary I've written some help pages on using the LDS Familysearch site. There's a page devoted to the Family History Library Catalog at http://www.janhart.net/fhlcat.htm It shows you how to access the Catalog and use the different searches. You can enter a place name such as Fermanagh or a county town/parish such as Lisnaskea or Aghalurcher, Derrygonnelly, Devenish, Pettigo etc. Other pages on the site deal with using the IGI custom search facility and downloading GEDCOMs. Hope this helps!
