Hello All, I have had the privilege of having a look at Jane's new website and she has obviously put a great deal of effort into it - a real labour of love. I found it to be extremely helpful for individuals like myself who, when I became interested in genealogy didn't have a great deal of knowledge regarding Griffiths Valuation, Tithes, Flaxgrowers Lists, Leases etc.... Jane posted quite a number of mailings explaining exactly what these were and also posted other items of interest regarding the 4 Courts Fires, History of the different churches....that I opened up a special 'Jane Lyons' Folder on my computer. I have posted a large amount of gravestone inscriptions on the Down and Scotch-Irish lists from Vols 12, 13, 17 which takes in Bangor, Newtownards, Portaferry and the Ards Peninsula, also some from Christchurch, Derriaghy, Co. Antrim and I would have no hesitation in forwarding these to Jane as she is a genuine and helpful person and the amount of her Irish historical knowledge is immense. Just wanted to allay any fears or suspicions that some may have felt with the wording of her email for gravestone inscription requests and hopefully we can all contribute a little something to Jane's website which must have taken an awful lot of personal time and effort on her part. Wishing Jane all the best of luck with this website and hope that you all find it as helpful and informative as I did.
