Listers, In a March 17th letter from a cousin in Dublin regarding a mutual cousin in Co Fermanagh near Derrygonnelly "....disinfectant mats at all farm entrances, no animal movement, no unnecessary visiting to neighbours. Church services have been cancelled in the area of the outbreak and no one is permitted to spread the accumulated slurry..normally a daily task. It is a siege condition but it only takes one person to plunge the country into economic disaster...." I quoted directly from his letter so I can't say whether the slurry accumulated from the farms or from the church services. (Sorry, I couldn't resist. I know it is serious) Doug Fletcher Canada Linda Foh wrote: > Today I read a small story in our newspaper about Northern Ireland's being unable to keep out the hoof and mouth disease. Can any of our Fermanagh friends shed any light so far? My cousins in Kesh have a small dairy herd and I'm concerned about similar devastation. > > Thanks, > > Linda Foh > Saylorsburg, PA > > ============================== > Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy access to the #1 > Source for Family History Online.
