question for youse: is McAuley and McCauley the same name? and has anyone ever heard Collins and Carrolan being confused? regards m ------------------------------------------------------------------ Jazz is freedom. - T. Monk http://www.panix.com/~cassidy
Hi Michael Firstly, I'm glad you found your Cassidy connection on Fermanagh Gold! Secondly, one of the features Fermanagh Gold surname search, which I hope you find helpful, is the ability to see all the surnames listed alphabetically. This gives you the huge variation on surname spellings. Some of them may be errors in transcription or typing but I do not change spellings when they're added to the databae. In some cases you can get different spellings of a surname within the same family records! So your McAuley and McCauley probably are the same name.
