There have been 3 confirmed cases of FMD in Northern Ireland. One was the result of cattle which were illegilly smuggled from the UK. The source of the other two cases is unknown yet. Fermanagh has not been hit yet but the whole place has been closed down. Even easter eggs were been confiscated at the border. -----Original Message----- From: Linda Foh [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 2:47 AM To: [email protected] Subject: not exactly genealogy Today I read a small story in our newspaper about Northern Ireland's being unable to keep out the hoof and mouth disease. Can any of our Fermanagh friends shed any light so far? My cousins in Kesh have a small dairy herd and I'm concerned about similar devastation.
