Before I returned to being a wage-slave I used to spend much time in the Public Record Office in Melbourne. Looking through some old jottings I found these two entries in the "Victorian Prisoners Index c1850 - 1900 - males" - a series of 6 microfiche compiled by Marion Button in 1995 : Thomas BARRETT b.1832 Fermanagh 05403 515/8 per 'Mary Clarke' to Adelaide 1849 (recon. No 7960) John BELL b.1829 Fermanagh 09901 515/15 see John Joseph WOOLLF Obviously, I didn't get past the 'B's. I apologise for not having any further info, nor am I able at this stage to offer to pursue them any further. I have seen some original prison records and they offer a wealth of personal detail re appearance (e,g, visage : long; complexion : sallow) and some information on the family/next of kin.
