    2. Fellow Listers, It is my turn to pass around my Irish ancestors, to see if anyone out there might just be looking at some of the same folks. My g-g-grandfather was named James Elliott, born about 1792. He married Anne Jane Dunbar in Dublin in 1834. They produced children, seven of whom reached adulthood, apparently in Coolcrannel. James died in 1852. I am led to believe James had a brother named John , because there was a John Elliott who acted as guardian of the children until 1859. It was at that time that the oldest daughter, my g-grandmother, Annie reached age 21. She married a John Forde (who survived the war in the Crimea) about 1860. Along with the second daughter, Margaret, Annie and John emigrated to Canada. This much has come from old family documents, but I know nothing of James or his parents, and when he came to Ireland from Scotland (I am led to believe that ALL Elliotts came from Scotland). I know nothing of Anne Jane Dunbar except that she was born about 1819. I know nothing so far of Coolcrannel, except that it is nearby to Maquiresbridge. I am all but certain they were Cof I. I know further, through letters to my grandfather from the oldest son, John, that he had emigrated to Liverpool, as had his sister, Mary Jane, I have learned through reading in this list that there are a bunch of Elliotts in the neighborhood , as well as a Dunbar or two. Maybe, just maybe, one of you knows one of mine. I suspect Griffith's might not be too helpful, although the land remained in family hands for some time. The Tithe Applotment might very well help. Our state library has neither. I have learned much from all of you and am warmed by the generosity that is displayed in your helping one another. Cordially, Marion Wood Salem, OR
