    1. Re: FERMANAGH-D Digest V01 #8
    2. Hi Everyone, I haven't written for quite a while but am wondering if the method of sending a message to everyone has changed. On both Jan 24 & 25 I sent a request for help to [email protected] and it was not published. This reply I am using is the last entry I have from here and I hope this route accomplishes something. My request: Can anyone give me guidance to locate the place, town or area in Fermanagh where my grandfather's family came from? GREATgrandfather was Francis Trainor who married Catherine McElroy (dtr of William &Bridget McElroy) sometime around 1860. They had 9 children that I know of: Francis, William, Patrick (who was my grandfather), Margaret, Daniel, Teresa, Philip & Roseanna. The 9 children & mother Catherine moved to the States, possibly at 2 or 3 different times, settling in Providence, RI. They all remained here, married, raised families & died here. They were Roman Catholic. I don't know what happened to Ggfather, Francis or why he did not come to the States. All official records I have researched here just say that they came from Fermanagh, Ireland, without reference to town, city or parish. I have written to various places in Ireland but have struck out. How successful are the searches that you pay for first? Any & all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Helen (Trainor) Vezina PS: I have mail controls on my AOL account so if anyone wants to answer me directly, I'd have to know your address first to allow the mail to come through.

    2. Fermanagh Gold
    3. Hi Helen Glad you explained about your email as all ones from me (Fermanagh Gold) have come back from you with this message "not accepting mail from this account" So now I know! You did originally select to receive updates about Fermanagh Gold - if this is still the case can you add [email protected] to your list of allowable addresses! Sorry this is slightly off topic everyone!
