They did not sign the register at the time of marriage. We know nothing of their parents. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you , Kathleen

    3. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone on this list knows if there are any Isaac families still living in the Enniskillen area. My Isaac ancestors were from that area, and immigrated to Canada in the 1830/40's. I'm looking for any descendents of the siblings who stayed in Ireland. I'm hoping to take a trip that way, perhaps this summer or fall, and would really like to be able to look up any distant relatives that may still be in the area. Also, does anyone have access to cemetery or church records in that area? It would be neat to visit ancestral gravesites/churches while I'm there. Please contact me if you know of any. Thanks, Dorothy Quebec dquebec@sasktel.net

The Parish of Inishmacsaint as we now see it on the maps and surveys, used to extend to the ocean and included the territory of Cul Main parish which was also the territory of the Flanagans in the barony of Magheraboy. That puts our ancestors next door to county Sligo and Galway. Niall had his stonghold in Donegal and his sons controled the surronding countryside. NIall had eight sons, they all got married. 1. 2. Most of us, who try to trace our family back into time to find our ancestors, start by asking questions of our living family members who are still with us. Then we must travel the path of "The paper Trail". One page at a time, one generation, one person at a time. If you have to skip any of these, you must still number that blank page, to be filled in later. A lot of persons, after a while, forget- that there are always two ends to a 'Trail'. The beginning is Now/Here, The far end is called "History" For a lot of years and generations, Early Irish Family names and Clans were believed to have originated from Irish Mythology . A recently published article about DNA mentioned a "Niall of The Nine Hostages" as being a real human being. Irish History books have been telling us this for years. "Please" Read Irish History and put a name on the final page of your search, The one Ancestor who got you Family Surname started, and sometimes list his descendents back to you and yours. Just a thought Bud in Arizona

    3. Dear Listers, I am looking for the birth of my GGrandmother Jane McMAHON born about 1850 in Fermanagh. Parents possibly Arthur and Margaret. She was a Catholic. With information from Tithe and Griffiths records for Arthur McMAHON, the search areas seem to point towards Aghalurcher and Clones, but other possibilites are Devenish and Enniskillen. I know this is a big ask, but would appreciate any help. Thank you, Regards, Helen Turner Levin, New Zealand

    1. Brown/Fraser Marriage
    2. Bob
    3. Hello List: This my first posting to this list and I am hoping gor some positive results. I am looking for information on the marriage of Samuel Fawls Brown and Catherine Fraser. Samuel was born in 1801 in Fermanagh County and Catherinewas born in 1800 in Cavan County. They were married in 1830 in Cavan according to the information I have now. I am assuming since Fermanagh and Cavan counties are next to each other the towns, villages of their birth were close to the border. They immigrated to New Brunswick (maybe on a lumber boat) in 1846 or 47 (our best guess) and received a land grant in 1854. I am hoping someone will be able to do a look up and find something in the Irish Birth, Marriage records or in a shipping register.
