    1. Logan, John, James, David, and William + or - 1738
    2. Mary Frances Davis
    3. I need to find out whether my ancestors came from County Fermanagh. The above Logans emigrated to Pennsylvania, probably Philadelphia, then on to Augusta County Virginia where they settled. James was born in Ireland in 1723 or 1733. He is the son of John, whose brothers are David and William, we think. Any information would help. Many thanks, Mary Frances Logan Davis

    1. WARNOCK from border region of Tyrone and Fermanagh
    2. R Warnock
    3. G'day all Searching for data and contacts on the following: My Warnocks come from near the border of County Tyrone and CoFermanagh in Ireland. The following summary bridges the time when they moved to Australia: HUGH WARNOCK (1835-1901) Born 10 June 1835 At Sloughan Co Fermanagh Ireland. One brother John Warnock remained in Ireland .From M K Warnocks diary Staughan Co Fermanagh Ireland however Linda Meehan feels this should read Sloughan. Death Certificate states born Knockmore Co Fermanagh. Possibly Knockmore may have been the name of the Warnock farm? A baker by trade left London England on the ship "Dover Castle" 1002 tons Master John M Ayles for Melbourne Australia 5 November 1861 arriving Melbourne early 1862. Hugh's age stated as 26 years on departure documents. His wife Anne (see more data on Anne below)and only surviving son Hugh Alexander (another son Thomas Francis 1862-1863 died in Co Tyrone) who arrived in Sydney 27 September 1865. They spent the remainder of their lives in the Coonabarabran district, NSW Australia. Hugh had one brother John Warnock who lived in Ireland and married a Maguire see later in this note. ANNE WARNOCK NEE KEENAN (1830?-1905) Born in Fivemiletown County Tyrone Ireland about 1830. Anne arrived in Australia at Sydney on the ship "Wallasea" September 27 1865 having left Plymouth England on May 30 1865. Anne lived with Hugh until his death in 1901 and then at Trillick, Bugaldi NSW Australia with her son Hugh Alexander Warnock and his family until her death on February 3 1905 at Bugaldi and was buried February 4 1905. Anne's death Certificate states her parents as Hugh Thomas KEENAN and Mary MAGUIRE. On the "Wallasea" shipping lists her parents are Thos. & Margaret KEENAN of Five Mile Town, Co.Tyrone, Ireland. MKW Diary shows her parents as Thomas KEENAN and Mollie MAGUIRE. The year of birth poses a problem also 75 years at death places a birth at 1830? Yet her age in the had two brothers , Patrick KEENAN, a storekeeper in Five Mile Town, and Thomas KEENAN, a hotel keeper also in Five Mile Town. She had four sisters - Mary, Jane, Margaret and Ellen KEENAN. She had cousins named McKENNA, McALEER, MAGUIRE, NANN (could be Nawn), McCAFFREY and KEENAN. HUGH ALEXANDER WARNOCK (1860-1921) Born July 14 1860 Trillick, County Tyrone Ireland and arrived in Australia aged 5 years with his mother Anne Warnock on the "Wallasea". He was my grandfather. John WARNOCK brother of Hugh WARNOCK (1835-1901) son Alexander WARNOCK and Mary MURPHY married Anne Maguire . John was a brother of Hugh Warnock (1835-1901)see above and at this stage is presumed to have been born at Sloughan Co Fermanagh and remained in Ireland and had five sons and one daughter that I have found todate as follows: Phillip WARNOCK born Brookeborough Femanagh 10 Aug 1864 Mary Anne WARNOCK born Brooke borough Fermanagh 15 Jan 1868 James WARNOCK born Brooke borough Fermanagh 3 Oct 1869 Patrick WARNOCK Hugh WARNOCK William WARNOCK born Bohatton Fermanagh 4 JUl 1874 Any connections with any of the above? 1. Records available: Fairfax County, Virginia
    2. Ian Moore
    3. This morning's Washington Post reported on two interesting events: 1: The Fairfax County Library has set up a searchable index which contains over one million newspaper articles relating to criminal citations taken from local newspapers dating form 1785 to 1973. http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/library It includes death, marriage and birth records. It is an index and the actual stories can be obtained from the library (Instructions in the web site) 2: Fairfax County will shortly be making available 23,301 files containing land records. They will be available to the public in the Fairfax County Courthouse later this year. 1. Stafford Family of Boheveny
    2. Larry A. Stafford
    3. John Stafford (b. 1736 or earlier in Staffordshire, England), who was the oldest of a family of four. His wife's maiden name was Margaret Brunt. He had a bachelor brother and two sisters, Margaret (Maggie) who married James Welch, and Lettie who married John Gregg. John Stafford, his wife and his children went to West Ulster, Ireland, about 1760 or earlier, by way of Donegal Bay, in a coastal sailing vessel. It is thought that John Stafford was a gunsmith. They landed near the village of Ballintra, and then proceeded to County Fermanagh and settled in a townland named Bohevny in a hilly section of West Fermanagh near Enniskillen, John built a substantial house and reared his family in Bohevny. Boheveney, is a townland in Co Fermanagh, in the barony of Clonawley, union of Enniskillen, parish of Cleenish, and in the electoral division of Florencecourt. The family was protestant and I believe that they were into the United Methodist movement. The descendants in the US tended to be Methodist ministers. I would like to contact anyone who knows anything about the family of John Stafford. Anyone who has any online references that they could recommend would also be appreciated. I would like to get concrete proof of their existence. (public record of death, church records, etc.)

    1. Christopher LITTLE of Rossory
    2. Dear folks, I have monitored your comments and learned much. Many Thanks. We are searching the parents and siblings of the Christopher LITTLE of Rossory who was married 28 Apr 1812 at Aghalurcher Parish Church to Margaret SCARLETT. We think they are my ancestors who emigrated to Cobourg Ontario in 1818 with baby boy David who is reported to have been the only boy baby to have survived the plague on that ship. My Christopher changed his surname spelling to LIGHTLE upon arrival Canada, and we have many data on their descendants. Would like to hear from possible relatives still in Ireland. Thanks, Doug Applegath

    3. This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------79A62F8A13C9 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Janice, I think an entitlement certificate was likely a certificate that prepaid shipping for someone else, paid for by a family member or landlord. Usually this meant, during the Famine years, the landlord trying to get his tenants out of the country since it was cheaper to send them out than to pay rent to the government for monies they could not collect anyway. In 1839 this would more likely be a family member, who could possibly be living in Australia at the time, sending for family back home to come and move to Oz. People would sail from Ireland to Liverpool, England to catch a ship to Australia or the US. Possibly they would just row boats across the Irish Sea to get there, or small sailboats, or charter a boat to take them there. It is not very far. Clones, Fermanagh is indeed correct. This is a town name, also a parish name. If William was from Clones, you may have to check the LDS records for later births or christenings to any William Armstrong there that would fit a birth date around the mid 1830s. You already have some of my data. I did not exhaustively look for all possible Armstrongs, so I could have missed one. -- Tim mailto:phwalls@prodigy.net Researching MCCLINTOCK, ARMSTRONG, GREEN, all of Irish descent, especially County Tyrone (MCCLINTOCK, ARMSTRONG) and Co. 1. PARKHILL; IRL>ENG>PHILA, USA, 1834
    2. LARRY PARKHILL
    3. I am looking for other researchers of the PARKHILL surname to trade or share information. My ggggrandparents, Adam & Jane Parkhill, along with a William and a William James Parkhill left Londonderry aboard the ship Adam Lodge, sailed to Liverpool and then to Philadelphia arriving June 14, 1834. Adam was born Feb. 1803. He had two known brothers, Robert, born 1812 and John, born 1819. The 1850 census of Jackson Co., Illinois has William and John living with Adam and Jane. The first solid date I have found for Robert in the USA was 1864 when he bought land in Indiana. Does anyone have any information on this family? Any information on their parents/family or more details on where they were from in Ireland? Were William and William James brothers and were they Adam's brothers. What become of William James? When did Robert and John arrive in the USA? Any information on this family will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Larry

    1. GLENN, BOYLE, LOUGH/Loft
    2. My great-grandparents were married at the Catholic church in Clunes, county Monaghan and I am trying to locate their parents & siblings possibly in County Fermanagh. Bridget GLENN is the daughter of Owen GLENN and Mary BOYLE. Her probable brother Owen GLENN (1835-1872) emigrated to the US in the early 1850's and married Margaret McCormick in 1855 in Buffalo, NY. Their children born in Buffalo: Joseph, John, Owen & Simon. Bridget GLENN (1840-1917) married James LOUGH (1839-1892) in 1858 at the Catholic Church in Clunes, County Monaghan, Ireland. They had 6 children: James, Bernard, Mary, Patrick, Theresa & Elizabeth and emigrated first to England and then to the US, finally settling about 1885 in Buffalo, Erie Co, NY. Does anyone have the LOUGH, GLENN or BOYLE surnames in County Fermanagh ? I am looking for more information, probably more siblings for James LOUGH and Bridget & Owen GLENN.
