Then you need to look at the actual Griffith's, either in book form (some libraries have it) or the filmed version, available from the FHCs. But even that only gives you the name of the householder, NOT his whole family, NOT his age, NOT relationships. It is NOT, after all, a census. The advantage of looking at the actual Griffiths is that you get to see who the neighbors are (often related families). It also tells you the size of the farm, and the name of the immediate lessor (the guy who the rent was paid to.) But then you can also rent films for the later Valuations (Griffith's was the first, or Primary, one.) These tel you the dates the property changed hands, and can give you clues to dates of death, emigration, etc. For more info, try here: http://www.ireland.com/ancestor/browse/records/land/index.htm Good luck, Janet C-S

In response to Anna re: ship's register's from Ireland to Canada...This info was on another post for another geneology web..I have not personally had need to check it out so I cannot vouch for the information, but it may be a place to go "A passenger list is readily available from The Provincial Archives of New Brunswick at no charge. The lists are available on loan through the interlibrary loan system. The RRL for the PANB is".. http://inter.gov.nb.ca/supply/archives/index1.htm This all according to a person who posts for a newfoundland roots web. Julie McCaffrey-Spelman

Perhaps if you explore the index you may find something closer. There are also maps showing parish locations. Are you going by a name passed down orally, or did you see it written on a document? Good luck, Janet C-S
Are there any records of families leaving Ireland to come to Canada? I am looking for passenger lists for ships that left Ireland between 1816-1820 and came to New Brunswick. Records here were destroyed up till 1833.... Is there data in Ireland? Online data? thanks Anna
Hi list(s) I have posted this to the Essex and Lincs newsgroups - don't know if it's of interest to anyone searching in Antrim or Fermanagh: I thought the list might be interested in this - message snipped to cut out the blatant advertising!! If anyone wants the full message (with details about special "eclipse" discounts, email me privately and I will forward it on). I have no personal interest in software company or any of the retailers who sell the CDRom. I received the original mail from 192.com mailing list. > UK-Info is now No. 7 in the UK Charts*! > > What the critics say ... > > "Now here IS something amazing. It is a CD-ROM of the entire electoral register for the UK, cross referenced to the entire phone directory, plus, for good measure, a directory for every business in Britain and the whole country on Ordnance Survey maps [Info Map]. Furthermore, on this one relatively cheap CD [from £39.95] you can search in an instant, rather than ploughing through books for hours. You can even save the extortionate cost of 192 calls. Want to find and old school friend? I located two in a minute. The CD.is pretty extraordinary." > London Evening Standard, Jonathan Margolis, on UK-Info Disk Version 4.0 <snipped> Jan Hart janhart@webleicester.co.uk

Before that year you have to use church records. Tempo C of I records exist from 1836 onwards so you are in luck there. Just write to the Rector, Church of Ireland Tempo, County Fermanagh. Northern Ireland Once you have the parents' names, you can write to Town Hall in Ennikillen, where they have marriage records. Civil Marriage records for the C of I Protestants began in 1845. Good luck, Janet C-S

Hi, I have information stating that Rev. William Annesley and his daughter Henrietta Selina Annesley were both born in Glerawley, Fermanagh, Henrietta born abt. 1822. Records show that Rev. William Annesley was minister at the parish of Bright from early 1800's until 1859. Is Glerawley, Fermanagh close to the Parish of Bright which I believe is in county Down. As I am not all to familiar with Ireland, could someone also let me know exactly where Glerawley is? Thanks for all the help Janice

Anyone with info about the Henderson family, around this time period...???? Are there records in Ireland that go back this far? Only church records? It has been passed down that David's father came from Scotland ( area unknown) and moved to Ireland......met and married an Irish girl, and stayed there... David Sr's son was born in Enniskillen. This family would be Protestant faith. Thanks for your time..and hopefully you can give me lots of advice on how to search Ireland...while being in Canada. Hope to hear from any Henderson. Dora, That book, "Enniskillen,Parish and Town" was written by the Rev. W. Harloe Dundas. I believe I have seen him also referred to as Canon W.H. Dundas. Bill Barber Hudson, New Hampshire U.S.A. -----Original Message----- From: Dora Smith [mailto:cl001@freenet.buffalo.edu] Sent: Tuesday, August 03, 1999 10:55 AM To: FERMANAGH-L@rootsweb.com Subject: re: Dundas query Sharryn: I don't know how relevant this is to your work, but a Cardinal Dundas published the book, "Enniskillen, Parish and Town" in 1912, in which I have been trying to get someone to look up for me what turns out to be grave records from the Enniskillen Church of England Cemetery for members of the Lowe family. Enniskillen is in Fermanagh County. The Fermanagh Library might be able to give you more information - if they wish to. I've been having trouble getting them to look some stuff up for me. They are on line. Also, the "Church of Ireland" cathedral in Enniskillen (which was the Enniskillen parish church). The name is something like Mcarty Cathedral, I probably don't have the name right. But someone on this list sent me the address and phone number, so perhaps someone will do so for you. If a Dundas was this prominent, there should be biographical and some genealogical information available. Yours, Dora Smith
