Thank you for your family information about the Flanagan's. My Flanagan files list over 1,000 persons with various spellings of this family name.
Greetings from sunny old Cape Cod. Would like to hear of the descendents of my great grandparents John Quigley and Ellen Swift. Thank You.

Hello William, Sorry about my previous effort. My ggggrandparents names were Nolan, O'Brien and Clifford in Co. Fermanagh, possibly in Aghalurcher parish in the early 1800's. Could you please send me any information on these names? Thanks for your help. Sheila. >
Not in the general section. Again, this doesn't mean that they weren't there, it only means that when they wrote this book (1962-69) the families with the most descendants remaining in Fermanagh were put in the book with a general description for the surname. In the social history in the 19th Century chapter under Lace - . . . in the 1840's. 'The sisters of Dean Tottenham, the Misses MacLean, employed a Miss Ellen Hassard, whom they had trained in Dublin, to teach a Venetian raised point lace to the women of Inishmacsaint to increase their family incomes. This lace was worn by Queen Victoria and Alexandra of England and was sold in California. The industry declined after 1906.' ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patrick O'Sullivan" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2002 6:37 AM Subject: Fermanagh Story-McLean Any info on the McLEAN family? Thanks. Pat

(a JOHNSTON married a DONALDSON) Thank you for your assistance, it is most appreciated Take care, Carole in Oz. <[email protected]>
A very warm thank you to William and Bonnie for doing lookups in this book. George Herbert FERGUSON and Anne HALL were married in Co. Fermanagh,1 January 1844 (5). They emmigrated to America in 1847, and landed in the port of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. George's parents were James FERGUSON and Margot HUSS. Anne's parents were John HALL and Jane BAILEY. I noticed that FERGUSON and HALL were on William's list. If there is something on those two names, I would surely appreciate it. Thank you, Jerrian
Am trying to compile a history of the Flanagan, O'Flanagan surname , and any other variations of the spelling, that had anything to do with county Fermanagh. There were four possible ancestors who gave that name to the Fermanagh area and I am trying to sort them out. I would appreciate anyone with a connection to these names to please send their information to me. Ancestors: Cairbre of Ulster, Fogarthach, Colla Da Chroaich, Imchadh, etc.,.
Page 383; Austin Stinson, A Derrygonnelly breadserver and a B-man, was the first Fermanagh man to suffer from the raids. In March 1955 he was shot and wounded in an ambush on the road between Aughnacloy and Augher.
Hello Mr. Flanagan: When you get some breathing space, anything you might have on the HAMILTON name would be wonderful! Sylvia, in Virginia
I have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the responses to look ups regarding the Fermanagh Story. If you would be so kind to look up the Henry Harte, Martin Harte, James Harte - James was a mason in Tiravree Glebe, Kinawley and Patrick McManus, also in Kinawley. Thank you in advance. William, Both of these surnames appeared on your list. I believe they were farmers primarily, with the men also being masons. They are my great grandparents, and as late as the 1960's their children and grandchildren were living in the area. Also have you any knowledge of a large estate in the area that was owned by a tea magnate? My Nana was in service there as a child. Thank you, Karen Smith
I get as many as 17 of this same message. Delete them, and the same multiple messages keep coming back when my computer is turned on again. What's going on?? Thanks for the Morrow information. My grandfather was born in Fermanagh in 1862-James Morrow. This seems to be a very common name. I have had paid genealogy help. Have the problem that he died in 1905 when my father was very young and so we knew very little except the County of Fermanagh. I am still trying to find his birth r4ecord, but believe now it was Magherculmoney. Plan to visit this area this year, so am anxious for any information I have received. Thank you. Norma Gail Morrow Reiman
Hi Listers I am interested in the name MacDowal Catherine MacDowal came to Australia as an orphan in 1849 her origins being Fermanagh. Hi All, I'm an experienced ROOTS-L lister, but new to this list. At long last, I've finally found information on where my ancestors hailed from in Ireland. an interview of a family member in 1902 says that his father and grandfather farmed near Enniskillen. I've spent a long time searching County Tyrone, but I was one county away. <grin> I'm hopful as I've already seen references to my surname in recent messages. Here's what I know: My Gr. Gr. Grandfather: Michael MONTAGUE (also Teague/MacTeague/Tigue/Tige) b. 1791 in County Fermanaugh d. Mar. 8, 1853 Eaton Twp., Lorain County, Ohio. Moved to Dumfries, Scotland abt. 1820. Emmigrated to U.S. abt. 1833. Michael's oldest Son, Henry MONTAGUE, b. near Enniskillen mar. 8, 1813 d. Apr. 26, 1883 Eaton Twp., Lorain County, Ohio. Other likely relatives that may be from the region: Thomas MONTAGUE 1821-1891 Thomas' Son, Charles MONTAGUE 1869-1892 Any information about Montague/Teague/Tigue in Fermanaugh will be greatly appreciated. I've been tapped to do a story about "Irish" Montagues for the MGS Quarterly. Thanks! Roger
