Searching for links to Thomas Wilson, b. abt. 1790, reportedly in MacGiresbridge, County Fermanagh, son of Robert and Elizabeth Wilson. Emigrated to Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, sometime between 1823 and 1834. He was married to Margaret (maiden name unknown) they would have come to Canada with their son John, b. October 24, 1815, and Thomas' brother John, b. abt. 1796 in County Fermanagh, and brother John's wife Jane (maiden name unknown) or County Tyrone. They eventually settled in Tyendenaga Township, Hastings County, Ontario, where Thomas died on December 3, 1853. Thomas and Margaret had other children: Jane; Mary Ann; Thomas Morley; James; William; Robert; and Edward. Thomas Lester Wilson twilson@pathwaynet.com
Seeking birthplace and marriage of James McGee and Margaret Fanugan, married Ireland, and their daughter Ellen, b. Oct 1839, Ireland. They migrated to Peel Co., ON. CN, ca 1844. Margaret possibly died enroute. In 1844, James McGee of Fermanagh, was a member of the Irish Repeal Association of CN. The 1851 census of Caledon Twp, Peel Co, CN, shows Ellen, age 12, with the family of Alexander Daugherty. Bernard Fanugan 28, lived next door.
I am looking for any information I can find about the family and ancestors of James Brown. James was born in Enniskillen some time between 1772 qnd 1782. He was in the 27th Regiment of foot for 9 years and was discharged through Chelsea Royal Hospital in 1803. He stayed in Ireland until 1832 when he commuted his pension and emigrated with his wife Mary, and 3 sons. James b 1814, William b 1815 and David, b.1817. They settled in Adelaide township, Middlesex County Ontario, Canada. Because of his age, (late 50's) when he emigrated, I thought he may have had some older children who stayed in Ireland. I'd very much appreciate any help I can get.

I would love to hear from anyone researching the Sheedy families in Ireland.. or alternativly Sheehy. I have been researching the families for nearly ten years in the till present vain hope of finding what became of our Pat Sheedy's family . Pat had brothers Michael, Martin and John and sister Bridget and Catherine.. all born in Tipperary c 1815 onwards.. Pat was a naughty boy and sent to Tasmania in 1845 for attempting to ambush a party of police at OBrien's bridge..he was rather ungrateful and escaped after 5 years of a 15 year sentence..and he never went back ... he then turned up at the Eureka stockade rebellion in 1854 and got himself arrested[he said he was just looking] he was let off and promptly settled down in Killarney,Victoria Australia.. I have done extensive work on the Sheedys and still have not found what became of his parents John Sheedy and mary [Bourke ] and his siblings.. the sheedys are at http://www.standard.net.au/~jfawcett so would love to hear from anyone interested.. I don't think so. It's written "Shanock" on his birth certificate. Kathy JDVon@aol.com wrote: > Is there a possibility that you Shancock might not be Shercock? Just a > possibility.
Is there a possibility that you Shancock might not be Shercock? Just a possibility.
On my grandfather's birth certificate it is written that he was born in "Newtownbutler, Shanock in the counties of Fermanagh & Monaghan." Does anyone know where Shanock is? Thank you. Kathy
Bud, Was it you who had a Michael CASSIDY in your family somewhere? I think I found one....:-) Please contact me.... Janet

Hi, This is my first go at this so hope you will be patient with me. My G grandfather William Woods married Sarah Coombs in Australia in 1884. The certificate states that he was born in Liverpool in England. His death certificate states Irvinestown near County Tyrone. I have found Irvinestown in Fermanagh. He was definitely irish. HIs parents are James Woods and Margaret Coyle. I can't find anything on them either. Hope someone can help me. Joanne

You could write to Town Hall in Enniskillen Fermanagh and see if they have any record of him. Remember, he did not give the info for the death certificate, so the info on the marriage is more likely to be correct. He may have been born in Liverpool, but moved to Ireland at a very young age. (Irvinestown is in Fermanagh, but very near Co Tyrone as you probably know.) Good luck, Janet C-S
