Matilda M. BAUTER, died Saturday April 18, 1968 Surnames: BAUTER, LEE, DeFRATES, SCHENK, HUSTON, FERGUS Vandalia: Mrs. Matilda M. BAUTER, 85, Rt. 1, Vandalia, Birch Lake, died Saturday at 3 a.m. in the Three Rivers Hospital. She had been in ill health for one month. She was born in Jacksonville, Ill., Jan. 19, 1883, a child of John and Mabel (LEE) DeFRATES. Her marriage to Fred E. BAUTER took place in Hennepin, Ill. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1925. Mrs. BAUTER resided in Chicago, Ill., until four years ago when she came here to live with her daughter. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Leo L. SCHENK of Keokuk, Iowa, and Mrs. Jesse HUSTON and Mrs. Inez FERGUS, both of Vandalia; one son, Frederick of Chicago; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her body was moved from the Geisler Funeral Home, Constantine, to the Greaves Mortuary in Keokuk, Sunday morning.
