    3. As a member of the newsgroups supporting research in the counties of Ulster in Northern Ireland and an associate member of NIFHS I would like to recommend a wonderful new publication listed above. I am continuing to volunteer to look up SURNAMES ONLY in this important contribution to Ulster genealogy. Please post your request to me directly crussell@traversecity.com , NOT to the newsgroup, and you will receive your reply to your e-mail address in order for other postings to receive precedence. Title the Subject line as follows: Lookup - "Omey" - SURNAME (in capitals) If you request more than 1 surname please ALPHABETIZE them in the subject line for easier lookup Do NOT ask me for additional information other than surname. I ethically think that if anyone wishes more information each of us should be purchasing the newly published book which will help to support the on-going work of the NIFHS to add to the body of research in Northern Ireland. I am grateful there is such a voluntary non-profit organization which depends upon the support of those who are interested in genealogy. There are 15 graveyards transcribed in Bill McGrew's wonderful new publication available through the NIFHS, North of Ireland Family History Society available through their website http://www.mni.co.uk/nifhs The cost in U.S. funds is approximately $18.50 or 11 pounds sterling, which includes the postage. The book is not indexed as to surnames, so I have to search through all 15 graveyard listings to find surnames. There are a total of 615 surnames listed. It is wonderfully organized - alphabetical order by graveyard listing tombstones bearing inscriptions from 1688 up to 1900. Each graveyard is listed with locations by Ordnance Survey sheets and location designations. The book includes both Protestant and Roman Catholic listings along with a brief explanation/history of each church. The graveyards included are within a 5 mile radius of the town of Omagh are: Cappagh C of I Clanabogan C of I (amalgamation of 3 parishes - Donacavey, Dromore and Drumragh) Crevenagh (Interdenominational) Donaghanie (Interdenominational) Drumnakilly C of I Drumragh - New Section Drumragh - Old Section (Interdenominational) Dunmullan (Interdenominational) Edenderry C of I Edebderry Presbyterian Lislimnaghan C of I Mountjoy Presbyterian (formerly know as Crossroads Church) St. Columba's C of I St. Mary's RC, Killyclogher St. Mary's RC, Knockmoyle I will list any variations I am aware of. It is important it is to research the many variations of your surnames as people in that era depended upon what they heard and wrote it according to their spelling abilities. Please remember to be kind to one another!
