Hello Cousins! It has come to my attention that public knowledge on my Ditty line ends with Joseph R. Ditty. Joseph was the son of John F. Ditty and Milly Ray. Shortly after John F. died, 1847 in Appleton City, St. Clair Co., MO, Milly and her 3 sons, Abram C., William H. and Joseph R. returned to Tennessee to live with John F.'s parents, Abraham Ditty and Jincy Fergus. Abe and Jincy raised the boys through their teens at which time Abram and Joseph returned to St. Clair Co., MO. I don't know much about William H.. My great grandfather, Joseph R. Ditty b. 2/26/1842, d. 12/30/1873 in Appleton City, MO. Joseph was bitten by a Copperhead snake and died at a young age. He was married to Roseltha Elizabeth Caton on 2/21/1869. She was born June 17, 1841 and died June 18, 1924 in Appleton City, MO. Joseph and "Elizabeth" had 3 children: i. Beatrice Lee Ditty, b. 1/6/1870, Appleton City, MO; d. Jefferson City, MO. ii. Josie Ray Ditty, b. 3/4/1873, Appleton City, MO. iii. David Cameron Ditty, b. 2/14/1871, Appleton City, MO; d. 6/2/1952. Beatrice married Robert N. Caton 3/20/1892. They had one child: i. Ernest Earl Caton, b. 1/21/1896. Ernest married Irene. Josie never married. My Grandfather, David "Cameron" married Ida Rosetta Brownfield 11/29/1909 in Independence, MO. They had two children: i. Lawrence Colson Ditty, b. Schell City, MO m. (1) Mary Elizabeth Evans, (2)Juanita Graham, (3) Mattie Lee Evans. Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth had one child: 1. Sheryl Lynn Ditty m. John Haush ii. Marjorie Olive Ditty, b. St. Clair Co., MO, m. Carl B. Spradlin. Children: 1. Stephen Randall Spradlin m. Ann Dale Gates 2. Lisa Marlene Spradlin m. Brian Curtis Dusenberry. Children: 1.
