Hi Fergus folk, Just had to let you know that I just made a find that surprised me. Looking for my missing McGhee gg Grandmother in Essex Co., New York today. Her husband, James McGhee's mother was Marion (Fergus) McGhee. They lived in Willsboro, Essex County, NY starting about 1825. Doing a surname search ran across Marion Fergus 1794 - 1876 it also said, "His Wife" (Right b date, off by 2 yrs on d date) Oddly, her husband wasn't listed, Alexander McGhee Sr. Her son,Alex Jr. McGhee was. Instead, the name William Fergus 1762 - 1847. Possibly her father, since his name was William. I had no idea he might have left Scotland. (Can't confirm the dates for him yet). The file was gilliland.htm titled Gilliland, Willsboro, New York Transcribed by Paul Rekow, 9/10/98 http://www.bestweb.net/~csmfox/essex.htm I queried the page master as to what Gilliland is or was.
