The Griffith's Valuation 1848-64 gives a complete list of occupiers of land, tenements, and houses and was used to determine the amount of tax that each able-bodied person should pay towards the upkeep of the workhouses which were built in the local market towns. It is considered to be a Census Substitute. There are a total of 38 listings in all of Ireland for this time period including all of the counties.
