I am looking through the FERGUS-L archives posts to compile information to search in Ireland and would like to amend some of the following information: Carrickfergus is one word which describes a city in Co Antrim (which would be the county where John FERGUS would be listed in any records). To my knowledge there was no king named Carrickfergus as carrick=rock. From "The Ordnance Survey Leisure Guide - Ireland".
