Work is continuing on the new website, but it is not yet ready for launching. I thought perhaps you might be interested in receiving periodical updates. Subscriber Bill Richards is graciously working on writing the HTML and formating the website while I send him a zillion (well, not quite) posts and changes. Another FERGUS cousin, Tony Bertotti is going to compile, edit, and write the information concerning Rootsweb, our host for our website. This will include how to subscribe to the FERGUS list, where to find Rootsweb information such as the Rootsweb Surname List, and how to help keep Rootsweb providing sites like ours. And, I would like to introduce you to the gentlemen I have decided to call the FERGUS Fab 4: Earl Crosby, Jim Fergus (from OKlahoma), and the brothers Jay and Terry Pennell. They are all related and related to me! They are dialoguing about the issue of copyright of the information we post. Now, I know that this can tend to be a "hot" issue as all of us have our own personal opinions on this issue. But, what is of concern is that we will go to all of this work and then a fee-based business will glean our information to resell to others . . . of course, we want this information to be widely available and then who would want to pay for it. Not sure that we can avoid being "raided" in this fashion, but these gentlemen will study the "issue" and format a statement to appear on our pages. Then Vicki Jensen, another subscriber, is working on retrieving the FERGUS Archives files and posting them by month for them to be available on the website.
