His daughter was Mary Emeline Fergus b. 4,6,1857 (probably Hancock County, Ill.) d. 11,2,1926 Mo. Washington W. Fergus married Emeline Hannah Spangler b. 1826 Ill. d. 1861 Ill. Mary Emeline was four years old when mother died, and father took her and possibly other children to Monroe County, Mo. and left Mary Emeline with a family named Green who reared her. Mary Emeline (Emma) m. 1879 Raphael Clement Leake. Not that it makes any difference to me, but this Fergus family was not Roman Catholic as Emma converted at marriage. (I want to be real PC about this...) I have no further information on Washington W. Fergus as he simply disappeared from Emma's life. Would suppose he was born ca. 1825.
