Recently, one student sent me a copy of George Carlin's commencement speech from last year, "The paradox of our Time...", which I assume Mr. Carlin had the copyright for, but an internet search showed eight sites listing the speech and only one even mentioned Mr. Carlin as the author. Most of the other seven sites listed the author as "unknown" or "anonymous", which only confirms my suspicion that most internet posters don't bother to even see if the work might be copyrighted. By the way, one of the "unknown" sites was a radio news service site. So for me, the biggest problem with the copyright issue is education. I'm working with my students. Please do the same with people you come in contact with. Thanks.
