Since I have found people on the index from Dublin city, I guess he is right. Since the Valuation entries were subsequently revised at regular intervals, it is often possible to trace living descendants of those originally listed in the GV. These are called the "Canceled Land Books" and "Current Land Books" and they can be viewed at the Valuation Office in Dublin.
