    2. Jim Shreve Sr.
    3. Morning all, A small update to my posting the other day, as well as a clarification. I neglected to tab correctly the specific entry for Susan M RUNKEL. She was not married to Unnamed FAY, she was the second wife of George H FAY. Consequently those persons who are listed as generation 4 under her, are her children. I should also stress, that the line is by no means complete or written in granite. The line is complete as of the 1880 Ohio census. Some of these people relocated elsewhere, which is info I do not access to here locally, so far as I know. Linda:I'll send you the fixed listing for posting. The spouse being in the wrong column is a major error as I'm looking at the chart. Enjoy, Jim SHREVE Sr. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Shreve Sr." <gemon_hammersmythe@ameritech.net> To: <FAY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, June 09, 2000 4:44 PM Subject: [FAY] Benejah F FAY descendents.(OPF 95) Sturbridge, MA to NY to Parma, OH related names and places on top of message > RELATED SURNAMES: LOVEJOY,HUMPHREY,VALENTINE,ROBERTS,DEAN > RELATED AREAS:Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, California, Illinois <SNIPPED THE FAMILY LINE> > 3. 3. RELATED SURNAMES: LOVEJOY,HUMPHREY,VALENTINE,ROBERTS,DEAN RELATED AREAS:Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, California, Illinois Morning all, Below you should find the full line for Benejah F FAY, which I've been filling in much with all my census info I've been compiling.from here in Cleveland, OH. I apologize in advance if your email proiggie may cut up certain lines. Everything looks fine from my standpoint as I entered it. This looks a bit different from my last such posting a month or so ago. If any of this looks familiar to you, I ask that you contact me. I made it my little project to find all the descendents of Benejah F FAY, the first settler in what is now known as Parma, Cuyahoga County, OH. I have the line of Ruth WILCOX going back to the immigrant as well. asterix will denote the line down to my wife. For sources, you can count various census, internment records, gravestones, obits, marriage index for Cuyahoga County, emails from various other descendents of Benejah FAY, & a few books from around the turn of the century. Should you have a question about certain entries on this list, feel free to email me and I can share with the source for that particular piece of info. Thanx in advance, Jim SHREVE Sr. Descendants of Benajah F FAY **1. I contacted Levi's grandson, son of Levi Edward in Iowa but didn't get very much information. I am hoping someone out there may have some input on this family as all of the older generations are gone and I have very little to go on. I feel joining the Fay Org. has given me info to no end on the early Fays and hope I can tie into the Fays some where. My GGrandmother was Rosabelle Fay Dau of Levi and Sarah Ann (Merrill) Fay. She married Greorge Washington Lacey from Carter Co Tenn. They were married in Vevay Switzerland Co In. Best Regards Margaret Pincock

    3. Good morning everyone! Some time ago there was a posting regarding Fays in Monore County Michigan, just south of Detroit. I am tenetively planning a trip there next week for a week or ten days for business. There will also likely be three or four followup trips over the next few months. In my spare time however, I would be willing to do a little research at the local library or cemetaries if someone is interested. I will need as much specific information as you have. I will have a digital camera and laptops so I can take and transmit pictures from Monroe. Please write me at madgrad77@hotmail.com if you are interested. 1. [FAY] back issues of the DIGEST for the Fay List
    2. Linda Kaufman
    3. Dear Family and Friends, I am in the process of putting back issues of the Digest up on the web at our site (check out the ones there: the entry point is at "Archived Queries"!) However, I am missing many issues, for I did not start to subscribe to the Digest until relatively late. I need the following issues: 42 and 43 (most urgent) any issue BEFORE issue 40 (I only have a couple from before that time, and a bit of duplication does not matter) IF you have these available, please let me know BEFORE sending; it could be that a great many of you save them, and I don't really need 50 copies of issue 26, for example. I will get in touch with you and ask you to send, and then I will post to this list to show that I have received that particular issue. Thank you. Linda (linda@fayfamily.org)

    3. I'm searching for Ethel Mae Fay nee Giles. In my initial email I don't remember if I mentioned that she was from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. I think she left there about 1920 or so, was a nurse in Hartford, CT then went to Jacksonville, Fl where she lived until early 1968. Then she moved to Orlando and passed away in July of the same year. Thanks. Pam Jastremski Casselberry, FL dal622@prodigy.net

    3. Morning all, I would like like to thank, all of you who emailed me a response back on my query. There was just too many for me to answer everyone privately. Everyone said it meant ditto. In any event, about a month ago, a descendent of Huldah FAY, daughter of Benejah FAY(OPF 95) & Ruth WILCOX, whom married Edwin LOVEJOY, emailed me. Here's is the pertinent info, with the editting I usually do for living people and what not. Asterix will indicate whose continued in the next generation. Gen 1 Edwin LOVEJOY <b. 1810 OH>, possible son of Solomon LOVEJOY, married <m. 4-13-1834 Cuyahoga County, OH> Huldah FAY <b. 11-19-1811 NY>, daughter of Benejah F FAY & Ruth WILCOX. known children: ** a>John LOVEJOY <b. 12-17-1845 Bremen, Fairfield County, OH d. 12-29-1915 Waukegan, Lake County, IL> b>George LOVEJOY married 1>Candace WINTER 2>Elizabeth HAINES c>Benjamin LOVEJOY d>Harriet "Hattie" LOVEJOY married George RAY e>Serina LOVEJOY f>Ami LOVEJOY NOTE:The date of marriage differs between what I had, and what Toni had. We were using two different marriage indexes apparently. A look at the actual certificate would eliminate that discrepancy. 1. [FAY] Patrick Fay
    2. I haven't put this out for sometime.......so thought I'd try it again in hopes someone new on the list might respond. Am looking for info on a Patrick and Ann Farrell (O'Farrell) Fay who were in Cumberland, MD in 1845-1846. They were godparents for my ggrandparents oldest child Roseanne Byrne (Burn) who was born there in 1846. Between that time and about 1848, they left Cumberland and went to the Falls Church, VA area. I believe they had a granddaughter named Betty (Mrs Sergeant) White also of Falls Church. Ann O'Farrell Fay was a sister to my great grandmother Catherine O'Farrell (Farrell) Byrne. (Catherine was born in County Tyrone, Ireland about 1825) If this sounds familiar to anyone, please contact me. Thanks. Pat Byrne Thurmes (in MN)

    3. Morning all, I've been doing a lot of work looking at the census, trying to piece together everyone in my various lines, and a question has been bothering me for some time. What does DO mean under state of origin or birth? For the life of me, I cannot figure out which state or country that would be. I'm inclined to think it actually means something along the lines of Data Omitted, or something similar, since on a few people I saw it on, had a different abbreviation in a later census. Thanx in advance, Jim SHREVE Sr.

    1. [FAY] RE: Question
    2. Jim, Could the DO under state of origin or birth on the census that you questioned possibly mean "Ditto"? Just a guess! Pat (in MN)
