Farris Olive E. Farris, 94, of Longview, died Nov. 9, 2001, at a local nursing home. She was born Sept. 18, 1907, in Iowa to Charles and Alva (Cook) Tallmon. She moved to the local area in 1985, coming from Portland. Mrs. Farris was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and made wonderful pies. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Orville Farris, in 1987; and a grandson, Kurtis Gaynor during the Vietnam War in 1970. Survivors include a daughter, June Schmitz of Kelso; three grandchildren, Gayle Pickett of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Chad T. Gayner and Jennifer Porter, both of Kalama; and three great-grandchildren. At her request, no service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
