Marie Barker Farris, 82, of Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 10, 2003, at St. Luke's South Hospital. Memorial services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at 12:30 p.m., at Shawnee Presbyterian Church, 6837 Nieman Rd., Shawnee, KS 66203. Private interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Dick Callahan, Bill Crowe, Jim Wood, Tom Gault, Stan Chappell, Jeff Miller, Leon Dearing and Elvin Miller. Marie was born on November 29, 1920, in Joplin, MO. Her husband, William A. Farris, preceded Marie in death. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Barber of Olathe, KS; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Chris Farris of Waipio, HI; two grandchildren, Amy Reynolds and husband, Donnie of Olathe, KS, and Tom Argubright of Overland Park, KS; a great-granddaughter, Courtney Ann Reynolds of Olathe, KS; and longtime companion, Norris Warren of Overland Park, KS. The family would also like to extend their thanks to the 2nd floor nurse's staff at St. Luke's South Hospital, as well as Doctor's Pasowicz and Huseman for their compassion and care during Marie's last days.
