I have two family reports that say Moses moved to Virginia from Ireland and then lived near Shelby, N.C., before moving to York County, S.C. His father, Robert Faries, was said to have arrived in America between 1794 and 1800. That means he couldn't have been a captain in the Revolutionary War, since the war ended in 1781, right? Moses was born before 1778, I guess in Ireland. Judy Brown reports that her ancestor, Mary Faries O'Neal Ware, presumed daughter of Moses, said when she was 70 years old that both of her parents were from Ireland and that she was born in S.C. This would quash the theory that Moses' wife was an Indian -- unless he had more than one wife. Deb
