She was born in Luling, Texas, however, she later relocated to Galveston, Texas. Mrs. Farris is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Andrea Romero, her loving husband, Claude B. Farris and also one of her granddaughters, Annie Marie Cruz. Mrs. Farris leaves behind many fond memories with her loving children and family, daughters, Annie G. Cruz of Galveston, Texas and Lena Trammell of Encieitas, California; her sons, Tony Romero, Sr. and wife, Patsy of Texas City, Texas and Herman Farris of Galveston, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many other loving family members. Vicenta was a homemaker and loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time in the company of family always. Perhaps one of her greatest past times was when she spent time in the company of her grandchildren. In her 86 years, she has lived life to its fullest and touched all those who loved her in a very special way. Vicenta passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones who will miss her very much and who look forward to the time when they will meet her again. Funeral services for Mrs. Farris will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2003, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston, with Fr. John Bok, O.F.M., Pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Galveston, officiating. Burial will follow services Thursday at Calvary Cemetery, also in Galveston. Gathering for visitation will be held on Thursday morning at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning after 10 a.m. Pallbearers will be Alfred V. Cruz, Jr., Greg Garza, Roy Cruz, Larry Cruz, David Cruz and Luis A. Romero. Mrs. Farris's family would like to take this opportunity to give thanks to God for helping all of them get through this difficult time. Also a special thank you to The Hospice Care Team, Inc. for all their support and to Sandra Vargas for all her assistance in caring for our loved one. Broadway Funeral Home
