He was born April 10, 1911, in Mt. Home, Ark to William and Effie (Davis) Farris. They moved to Okla. in 1927 in a covered wagon. He retired from WOOLCO store in 1976, but had been a farmer most of his life. He loved gardening and yard work and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Noweda, 6 sons, Raymond of Noble, OK, Mike and Lee of Bristow, OK, Charles and Phillip of Independence, KS, and Bill of Neodesha, KS; 3 daughters, Wilma Jean Tracewell of Salina, OK, Kathy Farris of Tulsa, OK, and Nancy Buchberg of Kansas City, MO; 4 step children, Tommy Thatcher of Albuquerque, NM, Victor Thatcher of Del City, OK, Teresa Davis of OKC and Bruce Thatcher of Norman, OK; 2 brothers, Neil Farris of West Linn, OR, and Rex Farris of Meeker, OK, 1 sister, Ruby Jean Goodfellow of Shawnee, OK and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers a! nd 2 sisters. The family wishes to thank all the personnel who assisted George during his illness at Midwest City Regional Hospital, Manor Care, Colonial Manor and Hospice.
